ACE Studio Creator Spotlight: Viktharien Volander

ACE Studio Creator Spotlight: Viktharien Volander

From childhood symphonies to new voices and languages with ACE Studio.

A Life in Music, Shaped by Sound

Music has been with Viktharien for as long as he can remember. At just four years old, he began experiencing vivid symphonic hallucinations, as if entire orchestras were playing in his mind. Over time, he learned to direct and capture those sounds, turning them into his first compositions.

In his twenties, Viktharien performed as a piano composer. By his thirties, his focus shifted to symphonic writing. Today, he is rediscovering piano through lessons and improvisation, blending it with electronic effects.

“I wrote three symphonies back-to-back in a couple of weeks. That was somewhat meaningful, or at least educational in a dies-from-exhaustion kind of way.”

One of his most profound experiences came in 2014, when he was homeless in Portland, Oregon. Playing piano on the streets helped him survive, but it also connected him deeply with others.

“I had the distinct honor of playing for people going through trouble. Many regarded me kindly for my music, some saying that I healed them or uplifted them in some way.”

Discovering ACE Studio

Viktharien first encountered ACE Studio through a random YouTube video. At the time, he was searching for a way to compose voice-centric music in a non-English language.

“The realism of the vocal functionality caught my ear. I was able to realize material quickly, and for me, that means I can spend less time on less good musical ideas.”

Creating with ACE

ACE Studio quickly became part of his creative process, especially in the early stages.

“ACE provides a quick way to hear ideas early on. I can toss a bunch of material at it and really drill down on those things which actually sound good to me.”

For vocals, he uses ACE mainly for prototyping melodies and lyrics. With the violin model, he has even been able to create complete realizations. One feature especially inspires him: vocal dubbing and voice changing.

“I created a custom language, and ACE allows me to sing in that language and have it realized through multiple voices. That’s really cool.”

Projects Reimagined

Among his most personal projects are two pieces called Violin Pacifique 1 and 2. These compositions began when he was a child, were rewritten in his twenties, and touched up again this year.

“These pieces have been performed or realized in the past with varying results. The ACE realizations gave me a chance to hear a unique and realistic interpretation of the music before I hire more musicians for future performances of the updated versions.”

Violin Pacifique 1

Originally written in childhood and reshaped in early adulthood, this piece blends nostalgic themes with fresh interpretation. The ACE Studio's AI Violin model allowed him to hear it in a way that felt both familiar and new.

Composed as a companion to the first, this piece carries a more reflective mood. With ACE Studio, he was able to bring it to life once again, a bridge between past inspirations and present possibilities.

ACE Studio A Creative Ally

“Honestly, it’s been a total game-changer. Before ACE, making vocal-based songs was basically out of reach unless I could find and record real singers,  which, to be honest, isn’t always practical when you’re composing solo. With ACE, that limitation just vanished.”

One of the biggest perks has been building choir sections with lyrics that sound natural, something traditional sample libraries struggle to achieve.

“Prototyping and realizing ideas is now much closer to what I would consider production-ready.”

It also makes the workflow more efficient and streamlined.

“I’ve used libraries that are massive, like dozens of gigabytes, and they really clutter up your workstation. ACE keeps things light, which is a huge bonus for productivity.”

Sometimes the benefits are as personal as they are technical.

“Dubbing my chicken screech voice into something less embarrassing.”

Next Chapters in the Journey

Looking ahead, Viktharien is preparing an unnamed multimedia project that will require specially created voices to sing in his invented language. Custom voice modeling is a key part of this vision.

He also has several violin compositions he wants to revisit, and plans to publish new vocal works. With ACE Studio, the process feels faster and more achievable.

“Absolutely. ACE will allow me to speed up the creative process.”

A Responsible Future for Music

For Viktharien, technology is a tool that should support, not replace, musicians.

“I think it is important that we continue to support real musicians, and I believe that ACE can be used responsibly to enhance the creative process without compromising on that point.”

His overall experience has been both intuitive and inspiring.

“I have enjoyed using ACE to prototype vocal ideas rapidly and to render unique, realistic interpretations of cherished compositions from my childhood. It is intuitive, and being experienced with DAWs and other tools like Vocaloid, it was easy to get into and use out of the box. I am looking forward to more models like the AI Violin and would encourage others interested in the ethical use of AI in music to try it out.”
