Frank is a self-taught composer and musician who has been part of the professional music scene for over 15 years, performing with local and touring bands across various genres. He’s also a proud member of ASCAP.
His style is hard to pin down, and that’s the point. He moves freely between pop, rock, jazz, country, and even film soundscapes. That versatility has opened the door to a wide range of projects, from politically charged lyrics to deeply personal tributes.

Discovering ACE Studio
Like many independent composers, Frank often ran into a wall when it came to vocals. Hiring singers wasn’t always possible, and the lack of voices left songs unfinished. That changed after a casual scroll on YouTube.
“I learned about ACE Studio from the Doctor Mix channel. I was totally blown away! I immediately saw how this was going to be an important, if not critical, addition to my writing and composing toolkit.”
Sculpting Voices, Step by Step
Today, ACE Studio sits at the heart of Frank’s creative process. He uses it for both lead and background vocals, shaping full arrangements note by note. His workflow is deliberate and precise.
It begins with creating an instrumental track, which he imports into ACE. From there, he plays vocal melodies and harmonies on the keyboard, recording them as MIDI instrument tracks. Each line is then assigned one of ACE’s 80+ voices — or sometimes even a custom voice — before placeholder syllables are carefully replaced with real lyrics.
That’s when the real sculpting begins. Frank adjusts note durations, phrasing, vibrato, riffs, and a host of vocal parameters — breath, falsetto, tension, energy, even formant shaping. Once the performances are refined, he exports all tracks and brings them into Pro Tools for mixing and production.
“The ability to sculpt the voice throughout the song, to build dynamics, emotion, and tension, is incredible,” Frank says. “ACE gives me control over details that make the difference between a demo and a performance.”

“Most of these lyrics were inspired by the current political landscape. Others came from personal stories and experiences. Thanks to ACE, I’ve been able to finish songs that otherwise might never have been done.”
ACE Studio: A Creative Ally
For Frank, ACE isn’t just a shortcut; it’s a true creative partner.
“As improvements are made to the integration with Pro Tools, the workflow is improving. Being able to record MIDI parts and audition them within the context of the song is very helpful. And yes, I can now create vocals much quicker than before.”
Even though he’s experimented with custom voice modeling, he admits that he’d still prefer a great live vocalist for some projects. But for personal work and demos, ACE has been transformative.
“I’d prefer to have a live singer delivering a heartfelt, emotional performance. But for someone like me who can’t sing and doesn’t have the time or money to hire singers for all my projects, ACE is an absolute godsend.”
Looking Ahead
Frank continues to explore ACE for every lyrical piece he creates. Most recently, I’m Going There was released with vocals fully realized in ACE Studio. Custom voice modeling is also on his horizon, and he’s already tested it lightly with his own voice.
“I continue to use ACE for any lyrical piece I do. I just published I'm Going There last month.”
