Best Way to Convert PDF to MIDI to Vocal
Convert the PDF sheet music to MIDI using MuseScore, then import the MIDI into ACE Studio, add the lyrics, and generate an AI-sung version.
When you have a sheet music in PDF format and want to hear its performance, you can use MuseScore in combination with ACE Studio. First, convert the PDF to MIDI using MuseScore, then import the MIDI into ACE Studio, add the lyrics, and generate an AI-sung version. This can be very helpful when your choir wants to rehearse and needs some reference performances.
Convert PDF to MIDI with MuseScore
Here are the steps to convert a PDF score to MIDI using MuseScore:
- Open MuseScore desktop app on your computer, go to File > Import PDF. This will take you to the MuseScore PDF import web service at https://musescore.com/import. Select a PDF file to upload.
- MuseScore will attempt to convert the PDF to a MuseScore file (.mscz) using optical music recognition. Download the converted .mscz file and open it in MuseScore desktop app.
- Review and edit the score as needed, as the conversion may not be perfect. Once you're satisfied with the score, go to File > Export.Choose "MIDI" as the export format.
Some important things to note:
- The PDF import feature uses optical music recognition, which is not always 100% accurate. You may need to manually correct errors in the imported score.
- Clean, digitally-created PDFs tend to convert better than scanned or handwritten scores.
- Complex scores with many instruments or unusual notation may not convert well.
